Professor David G. Michelson leads the Radio Science Lab at UBC and serves as Director of both the AURORA Connected Vehicle Testbed and the Marine Systems Initiative. He began his career as a member of a joint team from AT&T Wireless Services, and AT&T Labs-Research that developed propagation and channel models for next-generation and fixed wireless systems. Since joining UBC in 2003, his research has focused on wireless channels and systems, intelligent transportation, and the history of technology. In 2004, Prof. Michelson served on a Defence Science Advisory Panel on Cognitive Radio. Since 2019, he has participated in the annual RCN Naval Architecture Conference. In 2022, he served as the academic lead for the RCN Canadian Students at Sea program. He is a member of both AFCEA and the Association of Old Crows.

  • The International Symposium on Electromagnetic Theory (EMTS 2023) was held from 23-26 May 2023 at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, Canada. It was the twenty-fifth EMTS to be held since the first one was organized in Montreal by Prof. George Sinclair in 1953.
