Professor Emeritus

Department of Educational Studies

Dr. Tom Sork’s academic interests include program planning for adult learners, professional ethics and international collaboration. For eight years, he served as an associate dean in the Faculty of Education with responsibilities that included learning technologies and international engagement. In 2020, he served as the primary organizer for an international conference involving seven scholarly associations around the world to be held at UBC, but the pandemic forced cancellation of that event. In 2021, working closely with UBC’s Conferences and Accommodation, he was the academic host for a virtual version of the 2020 conference design. This was UBC’s first effort to host a fully virtual international research conference.
